PROJECT NOTES
SwapFreight — Business Pitch
University Project
Developed a business case for a heavy electric-truck battery-swapping network in New Zealand.

SwapFreight was a five-person group project completed for ENGEN270: Engineering and Business at the University of Waikato in 2026.
We investigated New Zealand's dependence on imported diesel and developed a proposed battery-leasing and swapping network for heavy electric trucks, initially serving Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.
The project involved researching the problem, identifying stakeholder needs, developing system architecture models and assessing the proposed solution's technical and commercial feasibility. We also considered project planning, operational risks, financial viability and broader environmental, social and cultural impacts.
The project culminated in a business pitch, a design review presentation and a final business plan supported by a 25-year financial investment model.
