Beginner Rocketry Project - Delayed

Project delayed for the foreseeable future

Last updated: 03 Oct 2026

• Unable to continue in 2026 due to UWAC programme resourcing and organisation. I will reassess if the programme resumes in 2027.

Overview

I am participating in the University of Waikato Astronautics Club Beginner Rocketry Program as part of a team of four with a mentor. The project uses an Aerospace Education NZ EZ-DD rocket kit.

The project has completed the required preparation, safety documentation, laboratory induction and initial OpenRocket modelling. The team is now awaiting the first build lab, where physical rocket assembly will begin. This page will be updated as construction, testing and launch work progresses.

OpenRocket Model & Simulation

I completed the OpenRocket modelling and simulation following the UWAC manual.

Model and simulation represent planned configuration of the rocket, and check the stability and flight performance using the simulation.
